Automattic, the company behind the blogging platform WordPress, among other great tools, such as bbPress and Akismet, has helped bloggers and others using WordPress for site management, make gathering article feedback a little easier.
Having acquired PollDaddy, Automattic has added features to the polling setup, including a new rating widget that can be added to most any site or blog — not just WordPress-powered sites.
The new poll ratings widget is being used on a variety of sites, including PCWorld, TechCrunch, Read/WriteWeb, and Wired, among other popular sites and who knows how many sites that don’t get over a million hits a month.
PollDaddy announced the new ratings feature for the WordPress.com platform last month, but it was almost a full month before — back in June 2009 — when the new rating system for the rest of the Internet was announced.
From blog.polldaddy.com:
We have been playing around with a new rating widget for the past few weeks here at PollDaddy HQ and we reckon its time to give it a public showing. Before I continue, this is very much a beta feature and there will be the inevitable few bugs cropping up so its not just ready for prime time yet.
While it is in beta, it seems to be fairly stable in my testing in a sandbox, as well as on a few test sites. Why not set up an account for yourself at PollDaddy and try out the ratings widget for yourself. You may even stumble across the powerful polling features offered by PollDaddy.
